ABOUT ORPHEUS THEATRE
Orpheus Theatre was founded in 1984, and has been firmly rooted in the community ever since, pulling from the large talent pool of area residents for all areas of production including: performers, directors, choreographers, costume designers, lighting & set designers, and musical directors. By offering workshops for children and teens, Orpheus Theatre continues to expose children to the world of theatre: teaching lessons, providing performance opportunities, and instilling a genuine love for theatre in area youth. Orpheus has also recently opened up their mission to include aspiring playwrights to submit new works and compete for a fully-produced production of their original work directed by an up-and-coming new director. Although a community theatre company, Orpheus does work with and hire union musicians for all productions, and the occasional union actor. Orpheus Theatre is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 community theatre company operating with the standards of a professional theatre company throughout the entire theatrical experience, producing quality theatre with and for our community.
