John R. Willis has performed in thirty Orpheus productions (twice as Senex in A Funny Thing Happened…) but had to wait until he was in his seventies and Cabaret to cross “romantic lead” off his bucket list. His last Orpheus role was the Wizard in The Wizard of Oz. He has performed as well for Catskill Theatreworks in such roles as the Padre in Man of La Mancha, Charlemagne in Pippin and the carnival owner in Carnival. He has over 200 performances as a chorus member for Glimmerglass Opera and has sung with the Catskill Chorale Society for over thirty years and currently serves on its board. Having played FDR twice before, he knows enough of history to know he should stop at three.
