ACTING WORKSHOPS:

All Students will work on scenes and monologues geared for their age group. They will use theatre games, improvisation, pantomime, and basic stage movement to improve their acting skills.
WINTER BREAK WORKSHOPS:

Students will explore different areas of theatre including character development, physical movement, set design and painting.
A presentation of their work will take place on Friday, FEB 22nd @ 7pm.
Any child that participates in Orpheus workshops, who has the desire to

THE JASON ROTHENBERG RAIZE SCHOLARSHIP
(for summer theatre workshops)
Orpheus Theatre was deeply saddenedat the passing of Jason Rothenberg Raize. He was our colleague, our friend and one of the most talented actors to ever grace the Orpheus Theatre stage. Jason grew up in the
Oneonta area and from a very young age discovered his love of theatre. He performed in numerous productions at Orpheus Theatre including West Side Story, Annie, The King and I and Gypsy. Upon graduating high school he went on to study at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. Jason was then cast as Pilate in the National Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar and soon thereafter landed the leading role of Simba in the Broadway production of The Lion King. Jason's passion for theatre began at a young age and continued throughout his life. His exuberance in life and on stage brought joy to all.
In honor of Jason, Orpheus Theatre will be offering
two scholarships each summer for our camps, one for the 7 - 12 age group and one for the teen group. Jason's love and commitment to theatre at a young age is something Orpheus would like to continue to encourage in our youth. The scholarships will go to those who exhibit a burning desire to learn more about theatre. Financial need will be a secondary consideration.
Orpheus Theatre extends heartfelt thanks to the Rothenberg family for requesting donations be made to our theatre company in Jason's memory. Contributions made specifically for this scholarship will serve to ensure its continuance as well as increase the number of scholarships available in the future, giving more children the opportunity to learn about theatre. Donations should be made payable to Orpheus Theatre and notated The Jason Rothenberg Raize Scholarship.
