Disney's Newsies JR.

New York City, 1899.

The newspaper bosses raise prices, and the newsboys and girls who sell the papers are the ones who pay. Jack Kelly isn’t having it. He rallies kids from every borough, and together they find out what a few hundred voices can do.

Disney’s Newsies JR. is the 60-minute version of the Broadway hit, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and a book by Harvey Fierstein. It’s a story about courage and standing up for each other, set to the music of “Seize the Day,” “Carrying the Banner,” and “Santa Fe.” Over two weeks, students rehearse and perform the full show on stage.
